Anne-Marie Veillette owns a Bachelor’s degree in international relations and international law from the Université du Québec à Montréal and is currently a Master’s candidate in political science with a concentration in feminist studies. She is interested in research pertaining to feminist studies, police violence and urban studies, and more specifically, urban marginalization. Her Master’s thesis focuses on the deployment and impacts of police violence in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas, and more precisely, women’s perceptions as members of the Pacifying Police Units (UPPs). Moreover, she is currently working at the Paulo-Freire Centre (Centre d’aide et de ressource pour les étudiants-es en science politique de l’UQAM) and participates in a study on intersectional necessities within the Quebec coalition of sexual assault centers.
